I am a few more thoughts...
Eh, I thought I might as well write a little more since I haven't written much lately...
I've been thinking more lately about what it must be like for someone to leave their home country and move to another country, in search of a better life. Where everything is different from back home, and you barely know anyone. I know a lot of people that have gone to other countries for school, or for other things, but most of them were temporary moves; they all had the goal of coming back home. But what about those people that leave their old life behind? It's tough leaving everything you knew that was comforting and easy and head for the unknown. I guess I just have a deep respect for them...they are quite brave.
Went to see Etta James and Buddy Guy at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this week. It's tight that you can bring your own food/alcohol there. We went through almost 3 whole bottles of wine and got to listen to some awesome Jazz and Blues. Even Mr John Mayer did a guest spot for Buddy Guy. That man(John Mayer...well of course Buddy Guy is too), is pretty damn good on the electric guitar. But Etta was Etta....she certainly has some spunk.
My Thursday basketball league w/ South Bay Community Church officially ended last night...w/ us losing the 3rd place game...what a bummer to go out like that. Oh well, there's always next year...I can go back to hittin the weights a little harder now...
Dragonboat races this weekend. We have 2 guaranteed races, one tomorrow and another on Sunday. Depending on how well we do(and we have improved A LOT over the past year) we can be in as many as 6 races. That's gonna be a long time at the beyotch man...

I am a nice summer day, making people wish they were outside, whilst they are working...
TGIF
Dude, it's Friday, and I have seriously not done crapola all day...
There are several things I hate thinking about on Fridays at work. 1) CICELY'S off on every other Friday. But on the Fridays SHE is working, GLENN'S off. 2) CHRIS is done @ 12:30PM EVERY Friday, and DANA is off. 3) Argh man, argh. I so don't wanna be here today.
Anyway, Thanks to LOU for this:
1. If you were a ninja, what would your ninja name be and what would you do now that you're a ninja?
I would be a combo of the dude from Ninja Gaiden(I could do crazy ass moves and have infiniti ninja stars) and one of the ninja characters from Mortal Kombat(cuz they have those scary ass white eyes). And since I was a ninja, I would fight crime and be the modern-age Robin Hood.
2. Do something completely unexpected and random like Natalie Portman's character in Garden State and describe what you just did.
Just like Belle, I wrote this while at work so I stretched my hands out wide, stuck out my tongue, crossed my eyes, and yelled, "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee," but not too loudly...
3. Name 3 of your favorite toys growing up as a kid.
1) These lil motorized cars I used to have that ran on a single AA battery...I had like 30 of them and would just watch them go. I forget what they're called though.
2) My Legos, of course. I had an entire community occupying about 1/3 of our den back in the day.
3) Nintendo
4. What's something obscure you learned in school that you somehow still remember?
I can't really remember anything anymore...OH! The Titans came before Zeus and company in Greek Mythology.
5. You wake up one morning and find out you're a princess. Who would be your prince and how would you rule over your people?
Hmmm, I don't know. If I woke up and I was a princess, I would be pretty freaked out.
6. Which song do you think is the best "feel-good" song in the history of mankind?
I don't know about the history of mankind, but I really like "Do you love me?" that one song from Dirty Dancing. The song always cheers me up.
7. If you had the option to live the rest of your life in a constant orgasm...would you take it?
No way...you have to have something to look forward to during those blah days, he he he.
8. Osama bin Laden has been captured by the Marines and they turned him over to you to get some answers out of him. What methods of torture would you use?
I'd hang him by his feet and unleash fleas on him.
9. Complete this sentence: "Yo mama so ____, she _______!"
"Yo mama so fat, she bungee jumped and went straight to hell!!"
10. What is the most touching/memorable moment of your life?
ONE of the most memorable moments of my life was when Glenn, Chris, and I were suspected of being 3 terrorists travelling together and got taken off our train by the French Police.

I am an obscurred sequence...
My goodness, when did everything and everyone start getting so damn busy? My friends and I always have things goin on...from trips to different places to rec leagues to running to just plain old hanging out, there is always something planned. But for some reason it feels so much more busy this year than any so far. At dinner w/ a few friends yesterday, we were talking about how crazy busy we all were gonna be for what seems to be the next two months. We wanted to plan Magic Mountain, but it seems like it'd be best to plan it in late September/early Oct? I would've never thought that i would have to plan such a thing so far in advance. I guess you have to nowadays with everyone doing their own things on top of doin things w/ their friends. Just kinda scary thinking how crazy it is now...what about when everyone's married and having kids? Krikey!
itunes
When I first started this entry, I blotted down things I wanted to talk about, and I-tunes was one of them. I have no idea why I wrote it down now for some reason...damnit...I guess I'll have to revisit this topic another day...argh!
daylight savings
I dont' know if anyone has heard this yet, but they are planning to extend Daylight Savings time. I don't really know who "they" are...the "Man?" the international time people? I have no clue....but anyway, there's some governing body out there that wants to make Daylight Savings season longer by 3 weeks; making Daylight Savings occur two weeks earlier, and end one week later. I thought to myself, hmmm, 3 more weeks of daylight savings? I wish it wasn't cuz I actually like it when it's dark longer for some reason. But if it did get passed or whatever they do to things like this, I wouldn't have a huge problem with it. Apprently, it's caused an uproar because there are actually a lot of people who oppose it. The Airline industry for one, totally opposes it, and said they could lose up to a quarter of a billion a year in scheduling conflicts? I would've never thought that it affected so many things...pretty interesting. More to come as new developments are made on this topic...
HBP
Ahhh, the topic I've been waiting to blog about forever ago now...Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Definitely my favorite of the 6 books so far. It took me about 4 or 5 days to finish...usually had to read late into the evening/early mornings because of bball leagues and such. I soaked up every word though... Some people thought it was a little too dark, but I thought it was just that intense. It's gonna be a damn long wait for book 7, and I'm contemplating joining the "I'm going to Scotland for the book 7 release" party, he he he...just thinking about it though...not thoroughly convinced as of yet. I mean, I didn't even get my copy at midnight like most people. I AM however, reading HBP for the second time around...and after I go through some of my Need to read list of books, I plan on going over the Harry Potter saga once again. I shan't talk about the happenings of book 6, for those who have not yet finished reading it...and I probably won't go on a public critique either. Rather, I will simply wait for those Harry Potter fans who wish to discuss it w/ me on a personal level.
I still don't remember what I needed to say about ITUNES, dangit...
Oh well...

I am a turtle neck....
Ditch day
Remember on Saved by the Bell when they had Senior Ditch Day and Zach was stuck in detention or something like that? I never had ditch day! I wish I did have that now though, cuz then I'd have more time to do my chores. It's funny how it takes a day off for me to be able to do some of the errands I need that I cannot seem to find time for during my "normal" schedule. I called in yesterday to get my neck checked out(to be explained in a little bit), and since they didn't have an opening until 3:30PM, I was able to do a few things I had on my To Do list. I finally did a few loads of laundry...I now have a full stock of clean undies...I was down to my boxer briefs and boxers, but no tightie whities, which I usually wear, he he he. I also got to start, cleaning my room. It's gonna be a long process..because it not only involves picking up here and there and organizing my bills, but also shredding the old bills to make room for the new ones, going through my closet to see what is going to be donated(either sending them to the PI or to GoodWill), reorganizing the closet, and putting some things into the garage. Speaking of which, I'm gonna need to get some boxes to pack that stuff away. Looks like another to do item. Anyway, I digress, I also got to go to Target to buy some things I needed. Hangers was one thing. For some odd reason, I am totally out of hangrs in my closet. Unfortunately, they don't seem to sell those regular ones anywhere now, but the T1's w/ the slot for hanging tanktops or something like that. I hate that my hangers aren't all the same. Also got some face moisturizer and some toilet paper. Even picked up London from school cuz Jos was stuck in traffic on the freeway. I got to do all this, PLUS my Dr's appt, and I was still home before 6, which is when I get OFF of work. I really wish I worked like 4/10 or something...I need that extra day. I could always just not do so much stuff w/ gf, family, and friends and cut out activities, but that's pretty much what I'm looking forward to do. If only I could cut work out of the whole thing w/o having to cut out the paycheck....
So the neck. My neck started really hurting Friday morning, and I thought it was because of the bball game Thurs night. I thought it might just go away in a few days, but when it was still hurting yesterday, I thought it would be best to call-in, and get it checked out. Better safe than sorry. Anyway, X-rays came back negative and the prognosis is that my neck muscles are in spasm. Apparently, he was able to pinpoint that the injury was only heightened by the hit I took during that basketball game. It came from my ab routines on the incline bench...apparently, doing full on situps on those things really puts a lot of stress on that area of the neck, and well, having done an ab workout that very afternoon and then getting hit, I was only asking for it to happen. So 3 Advils taken 3 times a day for the next few weeks should do the trick. Otherwise, it's back to the needle....so I'm hoping for the former....
It annoys me that there are people out there who are so insecure about their lives that they infect other people with insecurity, with the seemingly sole purpose of making themselves feel better. It's like they don't want other people to be happy, they would rather say things and try to stir up other people's lives so that they can feel better about themselves. It's frickin spineless and how much better is it to just handle your own freakin problem than to try to cause some for others? Man, face your own problems and grow the hell up.
You know what's funny in Alias? How Sid's dad always tries to do things for her that, in his mind, are protecting her from harm. But it always seems to end up that what he did to "protect" her actually ends up doing the harm, and that as the cliche so often goes, "Honesty is the best policy." I mean, yes, he actually does do some shady stuff, but I'm talking about the main theme here. It's interesting how an attempt at protection can cause more damage than it can do good. What one person might think as taking the high road, or being protective, can be received as being deceiptful and hiding things.

I am a 3rd posting...
Wow, I've had a lot to say today...
Anyway, we were talking at work today about how things were when I started here about 2 years ago now, so I decided to look back and check out some history...
This time THREE years ago, I was bitching about how hot it was and how that might scream EARTHQUAKE!, how I was going to some b-day partays, and Jos thinking that London has special powers. TWO years ago, I was talkin about the latest crazy, FRIENDSTER, my company picnic, and how packed my weekend was. ONE year ago, I was talking about my company picnic, bitchin about how boring work was cuz I was doing this French VR testing stuff...and the fact that I hadn't blogged for a long time, and also having gone hiking w/ Cicely, Gleen, and Dorothy.
Times seem to not have changed much this time over the past few years. It's Africa Hot(we're at the beginning of a heat wave that'll go right into the weekend), my company picnic is upon us again, and b-day parties galore this weekend. I have been blogging for a long time. I wonder how long it would be if I had it all printed out. It would be kinda cool, kindof an autobiography of sorts. Anyway, it's always nice to take a minute and peek back at the past. That's one of the reasons I started to blog, so I could look back during different times and see what was going on in my mind. It gets increasingly more difficult to retain old memories...esp the ones we deem not-so-important.
This was my quote from one of those mid-July entries...
"Don't dwell upon things that needn't be dwelt upon, you are wasting precious time in which you could be smiling" I think I'd like to change that up to "Don't dwell upon things that needn't be dwelt upon, you are wastiing the present thinking about the past."

I am a nutrition fact
So we do this weekly Jamba Juice thing on Thursday mornings here at work. There's 7 of us, and basically we just rotate getting Jamba. We all have our regular orders, and you just usually e-mail the person who's turn it is for that particular Thursday if you want something different. Well, we were talking about it for a bit this morning, and I looked up the nutritional info for my Strawberries Wild:

That's a lot of frickin carbs...a little more than 1/3 of your daily intake. Well, I kinda do a lot of active stuff, so hopefully it's less than 1/3 of my normal required intake. Plus the Protein Boost, that adds up to quite a hearty breakfast. Thank goodness those are game and workout days!

I am a bowl of salad...
Damn you Tommy...
01. If you woke up tomorrow morning and you were the opposite gender, what would be the first thing you'd do?
Get naked and look in the mirror
02. If you could be invisible for a whole day, what would you do?
Scare people all day long.
03. If you could completely get rid of one fashion trend that you personally don't like, what would it be?
The sweat/wristbands thing. I hate those.
04. If you could dye your hair ANY color, what color would you choose?
Nothin, it wouldn't matter, cuz I'd still be bald, he he he. But if I had hair, maybe like silver or white, to accentuate my skin tone.
05. If you could look like any celebrity, who would you choose and why?
Brad Pitt. Cuz then I would be a hunk.
06. If you could spend one hour with ANYONE, (alive or dead) who would it be, and why?
I'd have to pick Jesus also, after he'd risen from the dead. I would ask him about how scared he was knowing what was going to happen, and well, just to be in his presence.
07. If you won a million dollars in the lottery, what would you do with the money?
A million dollars? You realize that isn't even much money nowadays? Well, after taxes...I'd pay off the rest of my parents debt, and put the rest towards a house...because it probably won't be enough to buy a whose in cash.
08. If you could tell one person ANYTHING, what would it be, and who would it be?
I would like to tell my Lola Ruth in the philippines everything about my life and my family while here in the US, in Ilocano, so she could totally understand me.
09. If you saw your favorite celebrity in the street, what would be your first reaction?
I would get all giddy and try to work up the courage to go talk to them, because I'd be afraid that I might be bothering them, which I probably will.
10. If you could change your first name to anything you wanted, what would you change it to?
Tommy already said Rick...as in Rick Hunter...but since it's only my first name, Rick wouldn't really fit well w/ Bermudez. So, I think I would change it to Buddance. He he he, just kidding...I don't really know.
11. What's one feature of your appearance that you absolutely like?
I like my bald head. Cuz it's round and easy to shave, and I don't like a conehead when I do shave.
12. If you were told today that you had only a month to live, what would be all the things you would do, or say before you died?
I would basically try to spend some time w/ all of my friends and family and just let them know how my life has been impacted by their presence. I probably wouldn't tell them what was happening either. I would take some time to write a little something about my advice on life and living, and I might probably just like to spend the last few hours w/ my loved ones and just be with them til it was all over.
13. If you could change any part of your appearance, what would it be?
My posture. I hunch a little...but I AM working on it.
14. If you had your own line of cosmetics, what would you call it, and what kind of products would you make?
I don't really know. I guess I would make a blemish coverup that would change color according to one's skin tone...Chameleon I guess?
15. If you had your own line of underwear, how would you design it?
I would
16. If you could have one super power, what would it be?

17. If you had the choice would you rather be Marilyn Monroe for a day, or Madonna?
Marilyn, I guess. She was a total icon and lived in a different era, which would be much more exciting. Madonna lives in our time, so I don't see it as being very exciting.
18. Do you believe your dreams have significance?
Sometimes. Sometimes they reflect your thoughts and emotions, but they are also completely random sometimes, and are easily influenced by external stimuli. I dreamt I was actually a cartoon once, so what is that supposed to mean? Nothing.
19. *Total number of films I own on DVD/video:
Probably around 50-60. No VHS Videos
20. *The last film I bought:
Italian Job, Maverick, Remember the Titans, and Catch Me if You Can. I got them all together.
21. *Last film I watched at home:
I started to watch Maverick, but I was cleaning my room and doing other things at the same time, so I stopped.
22. 6 films I watch a lot or mean a lot to me:
Chasing Amy, Ocean's Eleven, LOTR, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Zoolander
23. *Tag 5 people and have them answer these questions on their blog:
Umm... Belle, Dana, Lou, Kels, and Jovan
Freeze time

I am another chance...
I keep forgetting to bring my sunglasses with me when I leave for work in the morning. It isn't so bad on my drive out, but the sun is usually directly in front of me when I'm on my way home. And being the midget that I am, the sun visor does not block it out. I usually have to like scoot up or something. Weird...something that is usually so routine to me, I've been forgetting for the past few days.
A little over 3 days until the Harry Potter HBP (Half Blood Prince) release. I have my pre-ordered book all ready to ship and be at the house on Saturday. Unfortunately, I will only be at the house until about 11-ish or noon at the latest and I'm afraid it might come later than that. I might just leave instructions to leave it on the doorstep, he he he. I was considering (not really that seriously) not going out that day so I can just read, he he he. But just like everyone else, July 16th seems to be the day where there are a million-and-a-half things going on. Those lucky bastardios in Vancouver got to buy an early copy. Must've been great to be Canadian, "EY!" Damn. Well, I guess I'll just have to wait just like the rest of us muggles. I finished re-reading the series just in time.
I've been having the itch to play a little poker lately. When we went to Agua Caliente a few weeks back, the poker room was totally full and I didn't get a chance to sit. So I think I'm gonna have to make a visit to the Hustler one of these days. Any takers?

I am a late lunch...
First of all, a big congrats to my friend Jen Jen and her husband Rommel Mallari. Their new addition to their family, Jenel Ryan Mallari was born Thursday July 7, 7lbs 12oz, 18inches. So they are now the proud owners of a beautiful baby girl. Wait a second, do they own her? Do parents actually OWN their baby? Hmmm, interesting thought.
Weekend was grand. Bonfire(Bonfire or Bondfire?) was great. Fired up some hot dogs and had cooked up some smores with the crew and ate at BJ's in Tustin after with more of the crew. Highlights of the night included, but were not limited to: me almost burning Lou's and Joemama's faces off while playing w/ the lighter fluid, Tommy and Tinz wiping white ish off their faces, Tommy not knowing one of his headlights were out, Lou chugging his beer, Joe getting tricked into slapping himself by Jenn, and stupid servers taking away my pizookie while Cic and I were still eating it!. Saturday was dragonboat and tryin to party up, like back in the day. Belle, Lou, Cic, Ryan, Sherwin, and went to the Pike to go to the grand opening of that new bar, Mai Tai Bar. Some of Lou's friends were having a party over there. When we got there, the line was HELLA long. We decided to go eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and then go meet up w/ Dean, Trish, Jovan, Vic, Glenda, and Jeff over at Bellmont Station. Very crowded bar. Didn't drink cuz I was way too full from dinner, so we just kicked it and talked. Yesterday, church in the morning, and then in the afternooon, I had a league game. Went grocery shopping w/ Cic afterwards and then had Bible Study at my house w/ the BS crew. We're doing "Villains of the Bible," he he he, and our current Villian is the Pharoah. We watched Prince of Egypt last night and next week, we're gonna discuss it and compare w/ the good book. And that was my weekend.
Which brings me to today...Monday...blech. Mondays suck...especially after a short week like last week. Got up late today and didn't eat breakfast. I hate when I do that...esp now cuz I'm doing this work out during lunch thing a few times a week. And I dont' think I got in as good of a workout as I would have if I had more in my stomach than a cliff bar. But so far, the lunch workout thang has been good! Thanks for the idea beeb! Anyway, today I only ended up doing all abs. I wanted to get on the elliptical and do some high intensity cardio, but they were all taken, and I didn't want to run on the treadmill cuz I'm still playing ball tonight. I guess I'll do some sprints there or something.
Bonfires are awesome, except for the smell. It kinda gets to you after a while.
Factoid for the day 3 of every 5 restaurant meals in America are eaten OUTSIDE of the restaurant and one of every four of those meals is eaten in the CAR. Totally useless, but totally interesting, he he he.

I am a winning streak...
I thought I had some cool ish to write about today, but once I got to typing, nothin came out...kinda like when it feels like you gotta dump, and it's just gas. So, here's my gas...
We won again last night! Our first win-streak of the season and it comes on our final 2 regular season games. Now I just hope we can win 3 more, cuz that'll mean we'll take the championship! WOohoo! Come on!
FINALLY hit the gym today, during lunch. I was wondering if I was gonna be hungry and if it would be a good idea to workout at lunch, but I ate a pretty big breakfast so I'd definitely have the energy. So next was time, would I have enough time to get in a decent workout AND shower before going back to the office? Well, I had to get a car wash for one of our company cars before handing it over to the prez, since he's here from Japan, so it gave me a perfect opportunity to take a longer than usual lunch. Felt good to finally lift weights again. I didn't go too hard, cuz I didn't wanna be crazy sore for like 5 days, which is what usually happens when I come back from hiatus from lifting. Plus, both the Sunday AND Tuesday league start up again starting this week. So I'll go little soreness at a time. My bi's got tight pretty fast...I think I might have overdone those ones...and I only did one exercise too. Weird. But it was nice to get the blood pumping and remind those muscles what their functions were, he he he. Also got to do a little AB work, but I'll probably hit those a little harder tomorrow. I found out that I have gained 6 lbs in the few weeks where I was only playing 1 league game a week, plus Monday ball. Gotta work that off and shave down the gut a bit. So that means, time to diet too. I've been talking about improving my diet for years now I think, I really should get on it. I don't think I'm so bad though, I just gotta keep up the exercise and get some more fruits and veggies in.
Delays
So I said that I was able to take a longer than usual lunch today. Turns out it was much longer than I had even wanted it to be. I decided to go to the GYM first, so I could cool down while waiting for the car to get washed. That was no problem, I was able to get in my workout and shower and get out in an hour, so that's my usual lunch hour. I'm on my way to the car wash and I get stuck on Torrance...I'm wondering what it is, when I see a train passing up front. Damn, and of course it had to be one of those huge caravan ones, it took almost 20 minutes for it to pass. Unfortunately, I was already blocked in by a lot of cars so I couldn't turn off into the small streets or turn around for that matter. I was stuck. The train finally passes and we move on. Right as I passed the tracks, the gates came down again! For another train. Thank goodness I had already gotten past. Finally get to the carwash and the car goes in. I'm waiting for the car and just watching the cars come out of the wash when this BMW comes out and the dudes can't open the door. Somehow, it locked up while it was going through the wash and no one could get into it. And because it's the newer generation of cars, it couldn't be slim-jim'ed(which totally SUCKS, btw), and so my car was totally stuck behind. They couldn't just push it forward because the ground sloped all the way down to the street. So they had to get all their dudes to slowly push it and place wedges on the tires so it wouldn't roll down into the street. That took another 20 minutes. And then the guy that was drying off and wiping down the car took his sweet old time. I mean, it was good that he was so anal about it, but DUDE, I was so late already. I finally get back to the office and it turns out I ended up being gone for almost 3 hours. Good gosh!
Bonfire tonight...get to see friends and chill and smell like crap :)

I am a double booked Saturday...
Video Games Live was awesome! There sure are a lot of gamers our there man. There were these girls next to us that seemed like they were gonna fall of their chairs everytime they intro'd the next video game they were gonna do. The dudes behind us were frickin humming to the entire Sonic the Hedgehog tribute. Personally, I really liked the Legend of Zelda piece, reminded me of all the years I've been playing video games. I can't believe it's been 20 years since Super Mario Brothers came out...man, I'm old. My personal highlight of the night would have to be seeing Hideo Kojima, creater of the Metal Gear series! That game is so awesome. I also saw some games I want to start playing from watching that show. One thing I thought was really cool about the show was that it probably introduced a lot of the younger generation to Orchestra culture. I thought it was an incredibly creative way to bring different types of people together, those that appreciated orchestra and the LA Philharmonic and also those that just loved video games. I'd definitely go see another one. Only drawback was that we didn't bring food with us to the Hollywood Bowl when we totally could've, so we starved throughout it. Plus we were there so long that by the time we got out we didn't have time to get something to eat afterward since everyone had to head home cuz of work the next day, so it would've been so much smarter had I thought of bringing in some food. Well, it's something to keep in mind for Etta James in a few weeks...
You know what sucks about events far in the future? You...correction, I do not check those dates way in the future before you, I mean, I, book something for your...myself. I registered for the Nike Run Hit Wonder in LA for Sept 24 the other day and I was so amped up. We were talking about that last night on the way to the show and then it hits Cic and me all of the sudden, Sept 24....that's the day of the EAGLES CONCERT!!!!! So now, we are double booked because both events are non-refundable. So we either have to find a way to do both of them, or find replacements to run for us in the 10K. We think we might be able to do the 5k instead of the 10K and then go to the concert. I really wanted to do the 10k though...not like I've been running consistently though. We'll see.
I really need to start going back into the gym. I have gotten much fatter in the past few weeks. All I do is eat and I've only been playing bball about once or 2x a week lately since the other 2 leagues are on hiatus for now. Plus, as I said already, no regular gym visits. Well, here is my concerted effort to diet better and work out at least 3x a week on top of bball and dragonboat. No Guts, no slacking....
Last regular season game tonight for my Thursday league. We won last week, so I hope we're really finishing strong and will carry the momentum into the playoffs....eek!

I am a short short week...
It's nice to start work when it's already the middle of the week. PLUS, it's a payweek, woohoo! Too bad all work weeks aren't like this, he he he.
Recap
'Twas a good long weekend. Only did a few of the things I had actually planned on. Saw War of the Worlds. Definitely not a movie one really thinks over the plot too much. Enjoy it for the special effects and few dramatacally intense scenes. I thought it was okay. I can' t remember if I read the book or not back in the day because I was trying to think if the ending was exactly the same. If I had read it back then and already knew the story, I would definitely have only been watching it for the special effects, or maybe not even watched it at all. Anyway, so the movie was a one-thumbs up I guess. On saturday, Cic and I did the dragonboat thang as usual and hung out w/ the Calmelats. Burgers, hanging out w/ old friends, and old friends' old friends, and Mario Party is always a good time. I don't remember laughing that hard for a while, it was one of those nights when your cheeks get all sore from laughing so much. We even got in trouble by the neighbors for being so loud. Felt like we were back in college, he he he. In a semi-spontaneous move, Cic, Rob, Chris, Gleen and I headed out for a little gambling/hanging out at Casino Morongo on Sunday night. When we got to the Morongo area, there were cars E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E. I ish you not man. Like every exit going to Morongo, and the opposite on the direction on the 10 (west), and even on all the little arteries surrounding the area. I don't know what it was that was happening but we definitely did not want to join the traffic parade. So we continued on...on to Agua Caliente. That place was hell crowded too. I wanted to play poker, but the waiting list was like 30 names long, which basically meant, "No table for you tonight." So I went to the regular table games, and I waited probably almost 1/2 an hour before I got a spot at a $15 min continuous shuffle blackjack table. I really don't like those continuous shuffle things, but it my patience was quickly running out. Played for less than hrs I think (I won $100, woohoo!) and after that, we headed to HB after pickin up the car from Gleen's. The plan for Monday was to go to the beyotch in the morning and chill there til it was time to head to Tammy's 4th/b-day bbq in DB. However, we ended up waking up late (since we didn't get back home til almost 3AM) and just chilled by the pool. After that we headed out to Tammy's and chilled there til 9-ish. And THEN, I had yesterday off...which was a day for me to do a little room cleaning, laundry. Gleen came by and we played a little MSG3 and some ROTK. Then we went to Tito's Tacos since Gleen never had it. And then, Cic and I went to Target last night. I ended up buying nothing on my list and 2 things that weren't even on it. Target is so sneaky like that. So here I am, back at work, first day of the workweek and it's Wednesday already. Ahhhhhhh......
Didn't work out at all this week, like I had originally planned, which sucks. I had chances too, but I was either 1) Too lazy, 2) Too slow in doin my other things and I didn't end up having time, or 3) Too lazy. Now I gotta wait til after tomorrow to work out again, because I want to actually hit some weights, but that means I'll be way sore for at least a couple days, and I have a bball game tomorrow, so that means I can't do it tonight. And I'll need a few days' recovery time. I guess friday it is...maybe during lunch, since that bonfire @ CDM is happening that day.
I also missed church on Sunday. It always feels weird for me to miss church. I know for most people it doesn't really matter but for me, it does. I feel like I haven't completed the week or something. And of course, I feel guilty cuz I didn't go, because I could have gone, but I just didn't try hard enough to get whatever it was I needed to do before mass. I played my lazy card. I hate it when I do that.
Anyway, gonna go see Video Games Live to night at the Hollywood Bowl. I'm quite excited...

I am the end of the first half...
Luther Vandross passed away today, he was only 54. How sad....but from reading the stuff his family and friends said about him, it seemed he had a good life.
Sometimes I really wish there was a Superhero living in LA. Like Spiderman, or Batman or something. Heck, I'd even settle for a gun-crazed violent vigilante like the Punisher, as long as evildoers were prevented from evildoing. Some stupid mother effer tried to break into my sister's car last night. Luckily, the alarm went of and B could hear it, so he ran out right away, and they didn't get anything. Unfortunately, the window is now bashed in and she has to pay for a new one. Frickin bastards man, I seriously wish there was a way to find out who it was. It totally sucks.
Irreconcilable differences
I always wonder how or why people reach a point in their relationships when they have "irreconciable differences." Usually when I hear about this stuff, it's like about couples breaking up or divorced, but I think it extends to every level of relationships. Anyone can end a relationship due to these irreconcilable differences. I can't stand it when I see it, and yet I know I too am guilty of letting it happen. It sucks when you can see friction in a relationship btwn people. Like there's something going on, but neither party wants to say anything, for whatever reason, be it pride, indifference, whatever. And of course, things just keep getting worse and worse...and it reaches a boiling point of sorts and, well, I'm sure we've all hear of the typical cliché where one can "do no wrong"; well, when these things happen, it comes to the point where one person can literally "do no right." This leads to the eventual death of the relationship. Because even jokes or things done playfully that were once "okay" are now accepted w/ irritation and resent. And then it always ends the same way, the end of the relationship. And maybe to some people they don't even care...or miss the relationship. But there are some who do miss it, but often times, it is far too late, and it's sad that one has to come to that unfortunate realization when it is already gone...
In good news...the "Bad News Bears," which is my Thursday league bball team, finally won it's second game of the season...and we are now 2-8, woohoo! This is the first game where we played much more relaxed and not thinking about our stinkin record. I think that made everyone a little tense and of course, it extended into our game and made us just play worse. But good thing is that everyone makes it into the playoffs, so I just hope this is an indication that we're finishing strong...cuz that only can mean good things.
4th of July weekend...I'm lookin forward to the holiday. I have Mon AND Tues off, woohoo! Things in store:
-War of the Worlds
-Workout
-Dragonboat
-Dinner w/ friends
-Church
-Morongo?
-Fireworks (I don't even need to go to a show, there's so many on my street already!)
